Ol’ha Kobylians’ka
1863 – 1942

This website is dedicated to Ol’ha Kobylians’ka.

You will be able to read more about my relationship with her right here in Cora’s Veranda. In the meantime, here is an excerpt from the book that first attracted me. It is from her book, On Sunday Morning She Gathered Herbs:

…there is a God above all of us. We are all his children, the whites, the gypsies… You cannot decide…

NOTE:  “Gypsy refers to an ethnic people, not a social behavior, and should be written with a capital G. Today, Romanies is the correct name for this ethnic group.”   Ian F. Hancock, OBE, FRSA

Welcome!

During my travels, especially in Eastern Europe, I met phenomenal authors, poets, artists and photographers who did not have the opportunity to make their works known. On this site, I will be presenting the work of those I call unsung heroes. You will have an opportunity to give them the attention they deserve. I will also be including my own work to hopefully inspire others to submit their own.

My team and I will present the submitted work we deem appropriate for this site. Please see the process for submitting work and a separate process for you to send comments about what you have read. We can also open communication between you and our artist if both sides agree. In other words, we will be the ‘middle-wo/man.’  It is noteworthy that submitted work can be from any country including the United States.  You can choose to be on my mailing list, which means we will notify you when we add work from new artists. You will also be privy to my personal link, Cora’s Veranda. Here I will add posts about my life as an author, what inspires me and which established writers and artists have meant the most to me. I’ll tell you about the books I’ve written and those photographs I’ve taken that spoke to me.

I will especially be grateful if you share this website with your friends and family.

Thank you,

Cora
